He and his accountant friend knew my entrepreneurial spirit and assured me that they had many customers and connections to keep me busy if I set up a structure to provide a high-speed scanning service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I poured over a business plan that allowed for modular growth according to the market demand and could scale to other cities in Colombia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a great idea. There was no inventory, no accounts payable, and no accounts receivable. My equipment could be transported on a motorcycle if needed. I could set up a scanning station at the client\u2019s location, or they could deliver boxes of records to my house. The final results were contained on a memory stick, or if they paid a small subscription fee, I would host their records in the cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After buying the essential equipment and supplies on credit, I gathered several boxes of bounded record books to learn and establish optimal output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Logo design and promotions were the fun part. I wanted a logo that I could animate in some way to make a talking character and give it personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Better Data Digital Archive Solutions never took off. Unfortunately, my connections didn\u2019t sell my services to their professional friends. And after scanning dozens of books or records, a future of only scanning documents all day, every day occurred as bleak and boring.
